Symptom: The pairing process fails multiple times even though the Wi-Fi signal is strong and the password that is entered through the TytoCare App is correct.

Possible Cause: The mobile device running the TytoCare App is connected to a 5 GHz Wi-Fi network. G1 TytoCare devices can only connect to 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks.

Suggested Solution: Switch to 2.4 GHz

  1. Sign Out: Log out of the TytoCare App.
  2. Network Adjust: Connect your mobile device to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network in your phone/tablet settings.
  3. Reconnect: Log back into the TytoCare App and restart the pairing process.

Tip: If your router uses a single name for both bands (Smart Connect), you may need to briefly step further away from the router to force your device onto the 2.4 GHz band, or disable 5 GHz temporarily in your router settings.
